The Left Out Project
In Collaboration with The Reciprocity Collective

Over 8 weeks, we built a collection of poetry and shared our experiences through vivid paintings and colorful storytelling, all while discovering new methods of expression. We shared stories, warm dinners, and dreams we had long forgotten. We spoke lovingly to our past and used creative expression to celebrate our full selves.
Left Out is a project done in collaboration with Reciprocity Collective, a Denver non-profit seeking to build a sustainable community-wide network to lift the voices of marginalized populations.
Working alongside Emancipation Theater, a local organization dedicated to inspiring action and creative liberation.

Working with Local Middle Schools
Practicing Large Scale Art
and Free Expression

This program provides a safe space for marginalized youth to express themselves freely. We practice expressive collaborative painting and promote messy, playful creation.
We build projects based on students' personal creative interests and ask them to share their stories with their peers and community through a final public project. We ask students to expand their creative boundaries and have challenging conversations with their art. As a growing program, we are currently focused on providing a visual art element for the students and creating a student-led outdoor mural for the school.
